Krishna Kanth aka Krish (Ram) is jolly-going youngster who loves fun and frolic. Putting a full stop with the Intermediate and always moving with his childhood friend (Sunil), he does all sorts of mischiefs. Krish lives with his caring brother and sister-in-law (Naresh and Jhansi). He wants to get rid of his problems. For this, he decides to trap an educated and earning girl, so that he can get married to her and lead a jolly life once for all. It so happens, that he bumps into Manju (Sheela). He cooks up a story and succeeds in making her believe about his love story. Just when things begin to look better for Krish, trouble comes in the form of Meenu (Hansika). The girl's real life matches with the fictitious love story of our hero. An influential politician Sivaji (Pradeep) is out to kidnap her while another baddy Simhachalam (Mukesh) is desperate to kill her. After all, who is Meenu? What is all this fuss? It has to be watched on the silver screen. Hero Ram performed to perfection and has come to give an impression to the audience that he is just full-fledged as an actor. A though viewer could, however, gauze the still immature side of Ram, which of course would go unnoticed. His stunts are superb. Hansika looks hot and sexy for the first time unlike the usual soft and shy characters she has portrayed so far. Even better was Sheela with her naturally seductive poise and she has shown her mettle in glamour by coming out with good oomph, Sheela has also scored in the acting department where Hansika could improve. Sunil is at his hilarious best in the major part of the first half, Brahmanandam was apt, Mukesh and Pradeep Rawat were evil enough and have come out with a mean performance which was perfect to the role. Jhansi was top notch, Naresh was valuable. The director has come out with a subject that covers all genres of audience and he has been quite matured in his narrative and taking care of the presentation too. Cinematography deserves special mention with the angles and framing while the music had about three songs worth humming. The script was neat, dialogues had few punch lines, screenplay was professional, locations were beautiful and the costumes were impressive. The other departments did their bit to contribute. Comedy could have been more effective. While the first half goes about with the comedy track and the romance track in the light hearted mode, the second half takes a serious turn with the violence, romantic confusion and the political drama. Music and songs are average to above average. The film has given rise to a new angle of image for both heroines. Maska will appeal to a cross section of the audiences. However, there is very little stuff that has any stamina to make any strong impression on the audience mind. With no big release ahead in the near future, the flick might garner sizable revenue at the box office. Verdict: A mass entertainer |
